This weather event is driven by a highly moist and unstable air mass, leading to conditions favorable for severe storms.

Changes from Previous Forecast

• The onset of severe storms is now expected to begin later, with activity starting after midnight tonight. The risk level has been elevated to a "Slight Risk" for much of the area through 7pm Thursday.
• An additional "Slight Risk" for severe storms has been introduced for Thursday night through Friday morning, focusing on the southern half of Central Alabama.
