Weather Briefing: Calhoun County - Unsettled Weather Outlook

Date: 5/8/2024

Overview Calhoun County is set to experience multiple rounds of showers and storms, with the potential for severe weather, starting overnight tonight and continuing through Friday morning. This weather event is driven by a highly moist and unstable air mass, leading to conditions favorable for severe storms.

Changes from Previous Forecast

  • The onset of severe storms is now expected to begin later, with activity starting after midnight tonight. The risk level has been elevated to a "Slight Risk" for much of the area through 7pm Thursday.
  • An additional "Slight Risk" for severe storms has been introduced for Thursday night through Friday morning, focusing on the southern half of Central Alabama.
