Police Seek Help Identifying Carjacking Suspect
Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé requests the public’s help identifying the suspect pictured below in connection with a carjacking on Monday, April 29, 2024.
At approximately 8:30 p.m., the suspect, possibly a Hispanic male, jumped into a vehicle at a supermarket parking lot in the 800 block of N. 6th Street. The suspect drove a short distance but stopped the car after he realized that a woman and her child were in the back seat.
He got out of the car and ran southbound on N. 6th Street. The vehicle was recovered and the suspect was later seen getting out of the below-pictured blue sedan, possibly an Acura TLX model.
