Join the Hoboken Junior Police Academy; Applications are available and due June 1.
Hoboken Junior Police Academy Applications Available
The Hoboken Police Department encourages Hoboken youth ages 10 through 15 to apply for the Junior Police Academy 2024.
The academy will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. from July 8 through July 12 at Stevens Institute of Technology. It is free for participants, hosted by the Hoboken Police Department in partnership with the Stevens Police Department, and funded through the Hudson County Municipal Drug Alliance, Hoboken Chapter.
The young recruits will participate in one hour of physical training each day, as well as take part in activities, lessons, and demonstrations meant to familiarize them with the role of a police officer. That includes K-9, drone, and robotics demonstrations as well as hands on self-defense and first aid training.
Applications must be submitted by June 1 and dropped off at Police Headquarters, 106 Hudson St., or emailed to: [email protected]. Space is limited and applicants will be selected by a random lottery.
