***UPDATE***
On May 8, 2024 at approximately 3:45pm officers attempted to serve two felony arrest warrants on a subject known to reside in the 1200 block of N.Roosevelt. Through investigations, officers learned that the wanted subject was inside a residence with access to a firearm. A CIRT callout was initiated. Once on scene, callouts were conducted and negotiators began communications with the suspect. Chemical agent was introduced into the residence and officers ultimately made entry. The suspect was not located inside the residence or on the property. This investigation is ongoing, however, the area is now open for regular traffic.

The Amarillo PD Critical Incident Response Team is on scene of a barricaded subject in the 1200 block of N. Roosevelt  The area is contained and swat and police negotiators are working to get the subject to come out of the residence. We ask citizens to stay clear of the area until this incident is resolved.
