Rohnert Park, CA — On May 8, 2024, at approximately 10:30 PM, the Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety (RPDPS) was notified of a traffic accident involving a motorcycle and a passenger vehicle at the intersection of Redwood Dr and Business Park Dr.
 
Public Safety personnel, supported by the Sonoma County Fire District, arrived at the scene within minutes and found the motorcyclist, a 21-year-old male from Rohnert Park, down in the roadway injured, and began life-saving measures.
 
The motorcyclist suffered critical injuries and was transported to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. The occupants of the passenger vehicle, including the driver and two passengers, were taken to local hospitals with injuries that were determined to be non-life-threatening.
 
Upon the preliminary investigation, it appears the passenger vehicle was headed north on Redwood Drive at the intersection of Business Park Drive. The motorcyclist was traveling south on Redwood Drive approaching the same intersection.  The vehicle turned left in front of the southbound motorcycle causing the motorcycle to hit the side of the vehicle. The road was closed for several hours while officers conducted the investigation and collected evidence.

Alcohol does not seem to be a factor in this collision.
 
The Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety extends its deepest condolences to the family and friends of the decedent.
