PRESS RELEASE: Suspect arrested for criminal threats, illegally possessed firearms, marijuana 
LOCATION: 1000 block Of Newbridge, East Palo Alto
DATE/TIME: May 4th 2024
On May 4th, Redwood City PD Officers initiated a criminal threats investigation. East Palo Alto resident Jose PadillaHernandez (47) had been sending threatening text messages to his ex-girlfriend, including an image of him with a handgun. RCPD Detectives conducted follow up and were able to determine where PadillaHernandez lived. He was arrested on the morning of May 8th. Detectives wrote a search warrant for his residence. They located four handguns (including the one featured in the text message), ammunition and around four pounds of marijuana.
PadillaHernandez was booked into the San Mateo County Jail for violation of Felony Criminal Threats. Charges pending for the illegally possessed firearms and marijuana.
