El Cerrito Police Department crime blotter from April 28th – May 4th.

The following is a summary of criminal activity in El Cerrito. It does not include all crimes. It also does not include non-criminal events such as missing persons, traffic collisions, non-criminal deaths, non-criminal disputes, nor many other police activities that do not result in arrest.

The following is a summary of criminal activity in El Cerrito from April 28th to May 4th.
 
April 28th

Vehicle Burglary – 950 Pomona Ave.
At 8:26 AM, an officer reported a suspect shattered a window of a parked vehicle and stole property from inside.

April 29th

Vandalism – 3100 block of Carlson Blvd.
At 2:10 PM, an officer reports a suspect threw eggs at an apartment window around midnight on 04/27/2024.

Shoplift – 11299 San Pablo Ave. (Gina Beauty 4 U):
At 3:08 PM, two suspects stole merchandise from the store.

April 30th

Battery - 11299 San Pablo Ave. (Gina Beauty 4 U):
At 10:28 AM, a suspect struck a victim and fled on foot prior to police arrival. 

May 1st

Displaying a Fake Firearm / Resisting Arrest / Vandalism / False Identification to Police – 6000 El Cerrito Plaza (Marshalls):
At 11:46 AM, officers arrested a suspect for displaying a replica firearm in public.  During his arrest, the suspect physically resisted and damaged a police vehicle.  The suspect provided officers with a false name and was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department. After booking, the suspect was transported to Martinez Detention Facility.

Robbery / Conspiracy / Obstruction / Warrant Arrest – 11545 San Pablo Ave. (Ross):
At 6:41 PM, officers were dispatched to a robbery. During the theft, three juvenile suspects had stolen merchandise and pepper-sprayed security. Officers later located and detained all three juvenile suspects. During the investigation, officers found the suspects to all have warrants. The suspects were arrested, booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and transported to juvenile hall. 

May 2nd

Shoplifting and Possession of Burglary Tools – 6000 El Cerrito Plaza (Marshalls):
At 2:33 PM, a suspect fled the store with unpaid merchandise. Officers detained the suspect and located the burglary tools. The suspect was arrested and released in the field with a citation. 

Hit and Run – San Pablo Ave. / Cutting Blvd.
At 5:00 PM, the driver of a hit and run collision was arrested, booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Possession of Prescription Medication / Possession of Marijuana / No License – Carlson Blvd. / San Mateo St.
At 12:23 AM, officers conducted a traffic enforcement stop. During the investigation, officers found the driver not licensed. Officers also located non-prescribed medication and marijuana of over 28.5 grams. The driver was arrested, booked at the El Cerrito Police Department, and released with a citation.

May 3rd

Possession of Drug Paraphernalia - Fairmount Ave. / BART Path:
At 7:09 PM, an officer contacted a subject during an investigation of a suspicious circumstance. Officers found a glass pipe on the subject. The subject was arrested, booked on at the El Cerrito Police Department, and released with a citation.

Disobeying an Officer - Potrero Ave. / Eastshore Blvd.
At 3:07 AM, an officer attempted to conduct a traffic enforcement stop on a bicyclist for a vehicle code violation. The bicyclist attempted to flee from officers but was detained after a short pursuit. The bicyclist was arrested, booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

May 4th

Vehicle Theft – 1200 block of Lawrence St.
At 8:24 AM, a victim reports their vehicle was stolen overnight. 

Robbery – 1000 El Cerrito Plaza (Lucky):
At 4:16 PM, a suspect stole items from Lucky. When confronted, the suspect reached in a bag and threatened to shoot employees.  The suspect fled prior to police arrival.

Felony Battery - BART Path / Wall Ave.
At 7:41 PM, officers responded to the area of someone screaming for help and located a victim of battery. Circulating officers located and arrested the suspect. The suspect was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.
