INCIDENT: V.C 2800.2(A)- Felony Reckless Evading
LOCATION: Nisqually Road/ Seventh Avenue, Victorville
SUSPECT(S): Damian Theodore Tate, 33-year-old Resident of Hesperia
SUMMARY: On Wednesday, May 8, 2024, at approximately 8:47 a.m., deputies from the Victorville Station located a vehicle wanted out of Los Angeles. Deputies initiated a traffic stop; however, the vehicle failed to yield.
The driver of the vehicle was later identified as Damian Theodore Tate, who was considered "Armed and Dangerous" by the Los Angeles Police Department. Tate led deputies in a high-speed pursuit for approximately five miles, running multiple stop signs, red lights, and drove on the wrong side of the road before he collided into a residence backyard’s fence. After the collision, Tate exited the vehicle and ran from deputies. Deputies apprehended Tate two blocks away from the scene of the collision and took him into custody.
Deputies located a firearm and several magazines inside the vehicle. Los Angeles Police Department took custody of Damian Theodore Tate for California Penal Code section 211 – Robbery and other charges.
