Suspicious Person Call Leads to the Arrest of a Phelan Man who had Outstanding Warrants for Weapons Charges

INCIDENT: WARRANT ARREST
LOCATION: Sheep Creek Road/ Goss Road, Phelan
SUSPECT: Nicholas Navarro, 40-years-old, resident of Phelan
SUMMARY:
On Wednesday, May 8, 2024, deputies received a call about a suspicious person near the cell tower at Sheep Creek Road and Goss Road in Phelan. According to the caller, a male adult parked his gray GMC truck blocking the maintenance service road to the tower.
When the deputies arrived, they located Nicholas Navarro near the tower. Navarro told deputies he had parked his vehicle there to walk and get gas. Navarro’s truck registration was expired, and he was found to have outstanding warrants out of San Bernardino County for felon in possession of a firearm and manufacturing of a short-barrel gun. Navarro’s truck was towed for expired registration.
Nicholas Navarro was arrested without incident and booked at the High Desert Detention Center for warrants. He is currently being held in lieu of $60,000.00 bail.
