Phase 1 work continues and Phase 2 work begins, roadway and sidewalk demolition has begun and will continue for the coming weeks.
 
Throughout the week of May 13th, in the north lane of Market Street, Upstate Companies will continue installing drainage structures, piping, and light pole bases.  Site grading for curbing and sidewalk will be happening in preparation for the installation of the new curbs and sidewalks.  Sidewalks currently under construction are along the north side of Market Street, beginning at Sidney Federal Credit Union and ending at the James Georgeson Ave intersection in front of Rowe’s Auto Service.  Site grading will also be occurring at the northeast corner of Chestnut Street Extension and Market Street.  Pedestrians are encouraged to avoid sidewalks under construction and use available, open sidewalks. Bicycle and vehicular traffic are to obey the recently added temporary traffic signals while there are active lane closures.  Work limits will be approximately between Chestnut Street Extension and James Georgeson Ave. 
 
All businesses will remain open.  Pedestrian and vehicular access to the businesses will be maintained at all times, as practicable. The public should continue to utilize the detour routes unless their destination is on Market Street.
