Fleeing Arrest – JV2419393
On 05/10/24 at approximately 11:00 PM, a Janesville Police officer attempted to stop a dirt bike that was driving without any headlights on the roadway. The Officer initiated a traffic stop by activating his lights and the dirt bike accelerated while driving recklessly through the community. The dirt bike fled and the Officer did not initiate a pursuit.
Officers continued to check the area that the dirt bike fled into. The dirt bike continued to flee and drive recklessly away from officers even though they were not attempting to stop it.
Janesville Police Officers later located Braxton Whitfield and the dirt bike in the 1300 Block of Mineral Point Ave. Whitfield was arrested for Fleeing/Eluding officers and a Felony Probation Violation.
He is being held at the Rock County Jail pending his initial appearance.
Whitfield is currently on probation for robbery with use of force and operating a vehicle without consent as a passenger.
