* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for... Southwestern Rapides Parish in central Louisiana... Southeastern Vernon Parish in west central Louisiana... Northeastern Allen Parish in southwestern Louisiana...

* Until 530 PM CDT.

* At 439 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Cravens, or near Fort Johnson, moving east at 50 mph. HAZARD...Quarter size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Damage to vehicles is expected.

* Locations impacted include... De Ridder, Rosepine, Glenmora, Elizabeth, Pitkin, Fort Johnson, Fullerton, Elmer, Cravens, Calcasieu, Mcnary, and Union Hill.

* AFFECTED AREAS: ALLEN, LA ... RAPIDES, LA ... VERNON, LA

Instructions:

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building. Large hail, damaging wind, and continuous cloud to ground lightning are occurring with this storm. Move indoors immediately. Lightning is one of nature's leading killers. Remember, if you can hear thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning. Torrential rainfall is occurring with this storm, and may lead to flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways. A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 700 PM CDT for central, southwestern and west central Louisiana.
