Wilmington Police have arrested a man on gun and drug charges following an investigation.
Beginning in April, members of the Drug, Organized Crime, and Vice Division have been conducting an investigation into illegal drug sales in the 2500 block of West Street. On May 10, at approximately 1:49 p.m., police executed a search warrant in that block and took 41-year-old Antoine Young into custody without incident. Young was found to be in possession of 2.84 grams of crack cocaine. Subsequently, police executed a search warrant in the 300 block of East 22nd Street, and recovered a loaded .38 caliber handgun, and drug paraphernalia.
Young has been charged with the following offenses:
- Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition by a Person Prohibited – Two Counts
- Possession of a Controlled Substance with the Intent to Deliver
- Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and was committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $21,100 cash-only bail.
