Woman Arrested After Attempting to Run Over a Man with Her Vehicle

INCIDENT: PC 245(a)(1) – Assault With a Deadly Weapon
LOCATION: 20200 block of Serrano Road, Apple Valley
VICTIM(S): 54-year-old male of Apple Valley
SUSPECT(S): Wanese Laselle Belvins, 42-year-old female of Apple Valley
SUMMARY: On Friday, May 10, 2024, at approximately 11:33 a.m., San Bernardino Sheriff’s Dispatch received a call of a dispute at a residence located in the 20200 block of Serrano Road, in the town of Apple Valley.
Deputy A. Trousas responded to the residence and investigated the matter. The investigation revealed Wanese Laselle Belvins arrived at the residence and a dispute ensued between Belvins and another occupant at the home. During the dispute, Belvins attempted to hit the victim, a 54-year-old male, with her vehicle. Belvins fled the scene prior to the deputy’s arrival but was located a short time later near the residence. Belvins was ultimately arrested without incident.
Wanese Laselle Belvins was booked at High Desert Detention Center for assault with a deadly weapon. Belvins subsequently posted bail and was released from custody.
