Police Awards Ceremony and Mass

Police Department Awards Recognize Life Saving Efforts and Going Above and Beyond

South Brunswick Police Department held its annual awards ceremony on Tuesday at St. Cecilia Roman Church in Monmouth Junction. The awards ceremony followed a Blue Mass that paid tribute to all in law enforcement during National Police Week. The  Rev. Charles T. O'Connor presided over the mass which was attended to by 150 people. The mass honored the everyday sacrifices of law enforcement.

The awards ceremony recognized outstanding work by dozens of officers and citizens. The cases ranged from stopping illegal gun distribution to tracking down pharmacy robbery suspects to saving lives. "Today's award ceremony represented three lives that would not be here today if not for the efforts of those being recognized," said Chief Hayducka. Chief Hayducak added, “It is important to take time to recognize the outstanding work done by members of our department and community. This year we recognize 51 officers and citizens who saved lives and went above and beyond to help others.”
