INCIDENT: PC 664/187 – Attempted Homicide
LOCATION: 14300 block of Jicarilla Road, Apple Valley
VICTIM(S): 67-year-old male of Apple Valley
SUSPECT(S): Humberto Cueto, 44-year-old male of Apple Valley
SUMMARY: San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Dispatch received a call of a shooting on Tuesday evening, May 14, 2024. In response to the 911 call, deputies were dispatched to the residence located in the 14300 block of Jicarilla Road in the town of Apple Valley, at approximately 9:33 p.m.
Deputy W. Ray and Deputy B. Almazan arrived on scene and contacted the reported suspect, Humberto Cueto, in the front yard of the residence. Cueto was taken into custody without incident. The investigation revealed Cueto shot the victim, a 67-year-old male, at the residence in response to an earlier assault.
Humberto Cueto was booked into High Desert Detention Center for attempted homicide. On Thursday, May 16, 2024, San Bernardino District Attorney’s office filed felony charges of attempted homicide. Cueto remains in custody in lieu of $2,000,000 bail.
