Next Thursday, May 23, Portage High School is hosting THREE MAJOR WIAA athletic events—ALL ON THE SAME DAY AND ALL BEGINNING IN THE EARLY AFTERNOON. 
1. WIAA Division 2 Track and Field Sectionals
2. WIAA Division 2 Girls Softball Sectionals
3. WIAA Division 2 Boys Baseball Regionals

These are some of the largest events that a high school can host and the D2 Sectional track meet alone will bring 36 teams and their supporters/communities to Portage. 

We have been advised that we should expect to see over 3,000 visitors to Portage that day.  The Portage School District has called for an early release for students from school that day to accommodate the anticipated influx. 

Portage residents and businesses should expect heavy traffic and congestion beginning around 1-2PM in and around the Portage area, especially on the north side of town near the Portage High School.
