Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé requests the public’s help in identifying the below-pictured male suspect in connection with a theft from auto that occurred on Saturday, April 20, 2024.
At approximately 10 p.m., a victim parked a work van at a residence located on Brookdale Avenue near South Orange Avenue. The following morning, the victim discovered that a rear window of the work van had been shattered and several tools had been stolen, including two drills, an automatic copper cutter, an HVAC vacuum, and other tools.
Detectives investigating this incident observed the suspect on surveillance camera breaking into the work van and removing the stolen tools.
Director Fragé urges anyone with information about the identity of this suspect to call the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477). All anonymous Crime Stopper tips are kept confidential and could result in a reward.
