Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé requests the public’s help in identifying the below-pictured male suspect in connection with a package theft that occurred on Tuesday, April 30, 2024.
A victim reported that three packages, valued at $429.00, were delivered to a residence at Vermont Avenue near South Orange Avenue at approximately 5 p.m. The suspect walked past the residence pulling a rolling briefcase. He quickly returned, walked up the victim’s front steps, and placed the three delivered packages into a black garbage bag.
Detectives investigating this incident describe the suspect as a Black male wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt, blue denim pants, and dark-colored shoes.
Director Fragé urges anyone with information about the identity of this suspect to call the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477). All anonymous Crime Stopper tips are kept confidential and could result in a reward.
