Driver Apprehended in Pedestrian Hit and Run Fatal Crash

The Absecon Police Department has apprehended the driver sought in connection with the fatal hit and run crash involving a 17-year-old male on February 17, 2024, on US Route 30 (Absecon Boulevard).

After a thorough investigation, Everette D. Williams, 52, of Atlantic City, was identified as the driver involved in the incident. Following the issuance of an arrest warrant, Mr. Williams' whereabouts remained unknown. However, on May 16, 2024, the US Marshal Task Force successfully located Everette Williams in Atlantic City, where he was taken into custody without incident.

Mr. Williams has been charged with the following offenses:

- Knowingly leaving the scene of a fatal motor vehicle crash (2nd Degree)
- Operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license and being involved in a motor vehicle crash resulting in the death of a person (3rd Degree)
- Removal of Vehicle Identification Number (3rd Degree)
- Numerous related traffic offenses

The Absecon Police Department would like to extend its gratitude to the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office, US Marshal’s Service, Atlantic County Sheriff's Office, Pleasantville Police Department, and the Vineland Police Department for their invaluable assistance in this investigation and for helping bring it to a successful conclusion.

Everette Williams is currently lodged at the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
