OPD News:
The Oakland Police Department is seeking any information about the homicide of George Afakisi. Around 7:00 p.m. on November 26, 2023, in the 1900 block of Crosby Avenue, Afakisi was standing outside with friends when he was fatally shot. Witnesses reported multiple suspects leaving the area in a dark-colored sedan.
Afakisi is survived by his fiancée and daughter.

Background:
The Oakland Police Department (OPD) is investigating a homicide that occurred on November 26, 2023. Just after 7:00 PM, OPD Officers responded to the 1900 block of Crosby Avenue for a report of a ShotSpotter activation. Soon after, Officers located an adult male suffering from at least one gunshot wound in the 3500 block of Foothill Boulevard. The victim was pronounced deceased by medical personnel on scene.
