City of Central

May 18, 2024

ALERT - PLEASE PLACE STORM DEBRIS ROADSIDE THIS WEEKEND!!!
Aaron Moak-EBR Metro Council

Debris removal crews will begin debris collection on MONDAY, MAY 20, and conduct one comprehensive pass of all affected residential locations. City-Parish officials urge residents impacted by the storm to gather and place any storm debris curbside by May 20 to ensure it is collected.

Storm debris must be placed curbside in the public right of way, or the area of property that extends from the street to the sidewalk, ditch, utility pole, or easement. Only loose storm debris will be collected, which must not be placed within four feet of mailboxes, water meters, fire hydrants, or any other above-ground utility. Storm debris should be clearly separated from regular garbage and recycling collection piles.

Contractors, including those providing tree removal or trimming services, should not place debris for curbside collection. Residents are responsible for ensuring commercial debris removal or including removal services in their contracts.

Residents do not need to contact the City-Parish once their debris is placed curbside. City-Parish teams are currently assessing debris removal needs to direct crews accordingly for collection. Any questions regarding storm debris removal can be directed to the City-Parish’s Solid Waste Customer Service Division at (225) 389-5457.
