Crescenta Valley Sheriff's Station Advises of Recent Scam Tactic

We have been made aware that a person is calling members of the public stating they are a member of our Department. The imposter tells the victim they need to pay a sum of money to avoid being arrested.
Our station, nor any other law enforcement agency, would request a payment over the phone to avoid an arrest. Never give your personal information, credit card number, or banking information over the phone unless you have verified the identity of the caller.
If someone states they are a Deputy from our station and you have a doubt, please call us at 818-248-3464 to verify.
