CORRECTION: Leonia's Memorial Day Parade - MONDAY, May 27, 11:30am.

The Borough of Leonia’s Annual Memorial Day Parade, hosted by American Legion Post No. 1, shall begin 11:30am on MONDAY, May 27, 2024.  Participants marching in the parade must assemble in the Leonia Middle School rotunda courtyard area by 11:00am in their assigned division. 

The parade route will begin at the Leonia Middle School, continue south on Broad Avenue, west on Fort Lee Road and into Wood Park.  There will be a memorial ceremony in Wood Park after the parade followed by hot dogs served at the American Legion.   

The 2024 Grand Marshall is Joseph “Joe” Riley, Jr.  A Leonian for over 42 years, Joe is a US Marine who completed a tour in Okinawa, Japan, competed on the winning team in the Far Eastern shooting matches and was selected to be on the US Marine Corps Rifle team.  Joe received an Honorable discharge with the rank of Captain and has served for the last 32 years as an active member of the American Legion Post 1.

Chairs and bleachers for viewers will be set up in front of and across from the American Legion.  Anyone who requires assistance in getting to the American Legion to view the Parade may contact the Borough Administrator by Thursday afternoon, 201-592-5780 X222, [email protected].
