Wilmington Police have arrested a man on gun and drug charges.
On May 17, at approximately 12:07 p.m., members of the Gun Intelligence Unit responded to the 1700 block of Lancaster Avenue, in reference to a person with a gun complaint. Upon arrival, officers made contact with 25-year-old Zameer McMillian, who physically resisted arrest, then was taken into custody without further incident. Police recovered a loaded 10mm handgun, 2.7 grams of crack cocaine, and .224 grams of heroin.
McMillian has been charged with the following offenses:
- Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition by a Person Prohibited – Three Counts
- Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony
- Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon
- Possession of a Controlled Substance with the Intent to Deliver
- Possession of a Controlled Substance
- Resisting Arrest
He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and was committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $100,700 cash-only bail.
