A Memorial Day Message from Mayor Tom Giordano 
My Dear Neighbors & Friends:
As we get ready for our 2024 Memorial Day Holiday Weekend, let us remember what Memorial Day truly means.
It is not just a day to have the day off, the beginning of summer, enjoying the beach, barbecues with family and friends, it is a day of reflection, when we remember and pay tribute to those who have served our country in uniform, who died protecting our freedom.
We remember all those who sustained injury in mind and body in the cause of their service. We salute them and all those who served in our military.
We mourn their loss, we commemorate their spirit, and we offer our deepest sympathy and compassion to their families, friends and loved ones.
Our freedom is never free, many men and women across our country have given so much to protect the foundation of what our country stands for.
Jeff Miller said: The willingness of American’s Veterans to sacrifice for our country has earned them our lasting Gratitude.
On this Memorial Day, let us take a moment to reflect on those individuals whose heroic actions made it possible for all of us to enjoy what we have, A LIFE OF FREEDOM.
