MERIDIAN POLICE ARREST MAN AFTER SHOTS FIRED
On Tuesday May 21, 2024 Meridian Police responded to a dispatched call of shots fired in the 2000 block of E. Copper Point Street, near Gordon Harris Park and Mountain View High School.
Mountain View High School was immediately put in hall check. Police received information the suspect may have shot at or into a residence on the street. Utilizing information from witnesses, police were able to quickly set up perimeter around a residence where the suspect was seen fleeing into.
The suspect fled into the back yard of the home and jumped a fence in an attempted to escape arrest, but was quickly apprehended and taken into custody.
Police discovered empty shell casings to 9mm handgun on the road and sidewalk and recovered a handgun in the residence where the suspect originally ran.
Police arrested Boone NICKERSON (18) of Meridian for felony Unlawful Discharge of a Firearm at a Dwelling House, Occupied Building, Vehicle or Mobile Home and misdemeanor Possession of Marijuana. NICKERSON was booked in the Ada County Jail.
