Lt. Greg Stevenson, in partnership this Old Fort Police Department, wrapped up Old Fort Elementary’s very first TIM Program on Friday afternoon! What a great group of 5th graders! Sheriff Ricky T. Buchanan and the Sheriff’s Office staff want to say a special “Thank you!” to Tim Duncan’s mother, daughter and grandson for joining us during the Role Model lesson.
“When creating this program,” shares Sheriff Buchanan, “I felt a burden that we, in the law enforcement community in partnership with our schools, do all that we can to bring awareness to our youth of the potential or inevitable dangers of life, such as drugs and social media. It was our honor to introduce this program to yet another McDowell County school this year and in doing so, continue to keep Tim Duncan’s memory alive and honor his legacy to protect our children. We greatly enjoyed having his family join us on Friday.”
