INCIDENT: P.C. 664/211- Attempted Robbery
LOCATION: Ramona Ave/Amargosa Road, Victorville
SUSPECT(S): Ruben Rodriguez, 28-year-old Resident of Victorville
SUMMARY: On Friday, May 17, 2024, at approximately 5:23 p.m., deputies from the Victorville Police Station responded to the area of Ramona Ave. and Amargosa Road for an attempted robbery.
Victim 1 and victim 2 were sitting at a bus stop on the corner of Kentwood Blvd. and Ramona Ave. A male suspect who was identified as Ruben Rodriguez stared at the victims causing them to feel uncomfortable. The two victims stood up and walked away from the bus stop. Rodriguez grabbed Victim’s 1 purse and pulled it, causing it to fall off her shoulder. Victim 2 was able to retrieve the bag from Rodriguez, and both victims ran to a nearby business. Rodriguez chased after them, but they were able to get away safely and call for help. Deputies located Rodriguez a short distance from the business and took him into custody.
Ruben Rodriguez was arrested and booked at High Desert Detention Center in Adelanto, for P.C. 664/211- Attempted Robbery.
