Student Arrested after Stabbing on High School Campus
On May 22, 2024, at approximately 11:59 a.m. Gilroy Police officers responded to Christopher High School, located at 850 Day Road, on a report of a stabbing. The initial investigation revealed that two male students were involved in a physical altercation in the school’s locker room. One of the involved students produced a knife and stabbed the other student.
Christopher High School’s staff and the School Resource Officer were on campus at the time and quickly intervened. The suspect was arrested and held until additional officers responded to the school. The victim received immediate treatment at the scene by the Gilroy Fire Department and was subsequently transported to a local hospital.
A “Code-Blue” lockdown was initiated at Christopher High School to ensure student safety and allow Gilroy Police officers and detectives to investigate the incident further. There is no ongoing threat to students or staff at the High School. The lockdown was lifted approximately an hour after the incident.
The juvenile suspect was arrested for charges related to this incident. He was later transported to Santa Clara County Juvenile Hall.
