Market St. Transportation Improvements – Streetscape Project. 
Beginning Tuesday, May 28th, at approximately 7:00 am, the City’s contractor Upstate Companies will be closing the intersection of Market Street and South Main Street in order to install the new storm sewer drainage system across South Main Street. This work is estimated to take approximately 4 to 5 hours to complete but could take longer if unforeseen conditions are encountered. During this closure, access to and from the businesses along South Main Street will only be via Main Street. Also, traffic on Market Street will be reduced to one lane in this area. Sidewalks will also be closed in the immediate work areas and on street parking will be limited.
Please avoid this area if at all possible. Portable traffic control devices will be placed at each side of the work areas in addition to other temporary signage and barricades. Please exercise extreme caution and obey all traffic control devices.
The City will issue periodic project updates or changes via Nixle PSA as needed.
