Subject: Media Alert: Street Closures for the Upcoming Resurfacing Project

Dear Resident,
Milestone Contractors, in conjunction with the City of East Chicago, will begin the improvement project of,
Melville Ave. from 151^st Street to Chicago Ave.
Alexander Ave. from 151^st Street to 148^th street
McCook Ave. from 151^st Street to 149^th Place
McCook Ave. from 149^th Place to 149^th Street
McCook Ave. from 148^th Place to Chicago Ave
149^th Place from McCook Ave. (West) to the dead end (East)
Milestone plans to restrict both sides of the roadway starting on/after Friday May 30^th, 2024, as part of phase 1 of this project. If you receive this letter, you may be in an area where construction will cause traveling conflicts. We will begin with sidewalk and curb removal and replacement. We have a marked out for removal in pink. No parking signs will be placed and we ask you not to park at those locations. Once we have completed all removal and replacement of concrete curb and sidewalk we will begin milling and paving. At that time, “No Parking” signs will be posted at least 24 hours prior to construction throughout the entire street and we ask that you park in driveways or adjacent side streets during the possible work time hours of Monday through Saturday, 6am to 7pm.
