Two OWI Arrests, Hours Apart

On 05/24/24 at approximately 5:14pm, a Janesville Police Officer responded to a vehicle involved in a traffic complaint in the area of Milton Ave and Blackbridge Rd.  A caller reported the vehicle was all over the roadway.  Officers observed the vehicle traveling in the 1200 blk of N. Ringold St and made a traffic stop.  The driver of the vehicle Jeffery Janecek displayed signs of impairment due to alcohol.  Jeffery failed standardized field sobriety testing and was arrested.  A legal blood sample was taken and is pending results.  Jeffery was charged with operating while intoxicated 1^st offense, which is a traffic forfeiture.  A sober, responsible party, came to the Janesville Police Department and took custody of Jeffery around 6:00pm.  This is normal procedure for an OWI 1^st arrest. 
 
On 05/24/24 at approximately 10:27pm a different Janesville Police Officer observed a vehicle traveling southbound on Milton Ave near Mt. Zion Ave.  The vehicle was deviating from its lane of traffic and traveling 15mph under the speed limit.  The officer initiated a traffic stop and identified the driver as Jeffery Janecek.  Jeffery was still under the influence of alcohol and had just left a local bar.  He failed field sobriety testing again and was arrested.  A second blood sample was taken and results are pending in this case.  Jeffery was held at the Rock County Jail for his continued dangerous behavior.
