* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for... Southern Montgomery County in southeastern Kansas...

* Until 145 AM CDT.

* At 107 AM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located just west of Caney, moving east at 45 mph. THIS IS A DESTRUCTIVE STORM FOR CANEY, HAVANA, DEARING AND COFFEYVILLE! HAZARD...80 mph wind gusts and golf ball size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes will be heavily damaged. Expect considerable damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles. Extensive tree damage and power outages are likely.

* Locations impacted include... Coffeyville, Caney, Dearing, Tyro, Havana, Independence Airport, and Coffeyville Airport.

* AFFECTED AREAS: MONTGOMERY, KS

Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the basement or small central room in a sturdy structure.
