Late Saturday night, May 25, 2024, at 10:57 PM Simi Valley Police Officers responded to the 4700 block of Adam Rd. reference an assault with a deadly weapon call. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male victim who had sustained a laceration to the head. The victim was immediately transported to a local trauma center and was treated for a moderate injury to the head. The officers later determined that during a party at the location, both the victim and suspect had a verbal argument that turned violent. The suspect struck the victim with a box cutter, causing a laceration to the head. The suspect was subsequently contacted and arrested for assault with a deadly weapon. The suspect was identified as 35 year-old Luis Vargas Calvillo of Simi Valley and booked at the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office Pre-Trial Detention Facility.
