                              Two Vehicle Injury Crash

Sheriff Richard J. Behnke, reports that on May 25, 2024, at approximately 2300 hours his office was called to investigate a personal injury crash on Brownsville St near M-62, Jefferson Township, Cass County, Michigan. Investigation shows that 42-year-old, Marcellus, MI resident; Gila Wigton was traveling Eastbound on Brownsville St, when he crossed the center line and struck a vehicle stopped in the Westbound Lane of Brownsville St. The second vehicle was driven by 23-year-old, Edwardsburg, MI resident; Matthew Dyda. 
Gila Wigton was transported to South Bend Memorial Hospital for injuries sustained in the crash.  
  
Both Wigton and Dyda were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash. Alcohol and drugs are considered a factor in this crash.
