SVRPAH The National Weather Service in Paducah has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for... Central Jackson County in southern Illinois... Northern Bollinger County in southeastern Missouri... Perry County in southeastern Missouri... Northwestern Cape Girardeau County in southeastern Missouri...

* Until 830 PM CDT.

* At 726 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from 6 miles southwest of St. Mary to Buckhorn, moving east at 25 mph. HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

* Locations impacted include... Carbondale, Perryville, Murphysboro, Marble Hill, Bollinger Mill State Historic Site, De Soto, Grand Tower, Altenburg, Patton, Millersville, Burfordville, Daisy, Alliance, Frohna, Oak Ridge, Gorham, Sedgewickville, Pocahontas, Longtown, and Old Appleton. This includes Interstate 55 between Mile Markers 107 and 139.

* AFFECTED AREAS: JACKSON, IL ... BOLLINGER, MO ... CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO ... PERRY, MO

Instructions:

Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the basement or small central room in a sturdy structure. For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building. A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 1100 PM CDT for southern Illinois...and southeastern Missouri.
