SVRPAH The National Weather Service in Paducah has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for... Northwestern Mississippi County in southeastern Missouri... Scott County in southeastern Missouri... Northwestern New Madrid County in southeastern Missouri... East central Butler County in southeastern Missouri... Stoddard County in southeastern Missouri...

* Until 915 PM CDT.

* At 819 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near Chaffee to near Harviell, moving southeast at 40 mph. HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect considerable tree damage. Wind damage is also likely to mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings.

* Locations impacted include... Sikeston, Dexter, Bernie, Bloomfield, Advance, Oran, Miner, Morehouse, Bertrand, Morley, Matthews, Essex, Bell City, Fisk, Canalou, Dudley, Hay-Wood City, Vanduser, Blodgett, and Baker. This includes the following highways... Interstate 57 in Missouri between Mile Markers 1 and 6. Interstate 55 between Mile Markers 61 and 80.

* AFFECTED AREAS: BUTLER, MO ... MISSISSIPPI, MO ... NEW MADRID, MO ... SCOTT, MO ... STODDARD, MO

Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the basement or small central room in a sturdy structure.
