Wilmington Police have arrested a man and woman in connection to an armed robbery and on gun and drug charges following an investigation.
On May 14, at approximately 10:55 p.m., members of the Uniformed Services Division responded to the 700 block of North Washington Street, in reference to an armed robbery. The case was assigned to Detective Jessica Gledhill of the Criminal Investigations Division. Through the course of her investigation, Detective Gledhill identified 23-year-old Jermaine Washington-Loper and 34-year-old Keondia Adams as suspects, and obtained warrants for their arrest.
During the month of May, members of the Drug, Organized Crime, and Vice Division have been conducting an investigation into illegal drug sales in the 700 block of North Washington Street. On May 22, at approximately 6:08 a.m., police executed a search warrant in that block and took Washington-Loper and Adams into custody without incident. Police recovered a loaded 40 caliber handgun, 22.3 grams of crack cocaine, 4.8 grams of cocaine, 31.8 grams of marijuana, $463, and drug paraphernalia.
Washington-Loper has been charged with the following offenses:
- Robbery (First Degree)
- Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition by a Person Prohibited – Three Counts
- Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony – Two Counts
- Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon
- Wearing a Disguise During the Commission of a Felony
- Conspiracy (Second Degree) – Two Counts
- Possession of a Controlled Substance with the Intent to Deliver in Tier 3 Quantity
- Possession of a Controlled Substance in Tier 3 Quantity
- Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
He was arraigned in the New Castle County Court of Common Pleas and was committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $80,100 cash-only bail.
Adams has been charged with the following offenses:
- Robbery (First Degree)
- Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited
- Possession of a Controlled Substance with the Intent to Deliver in Tier 3 Quantity
- Possession of a Controlled Substance in Tier 3 Quantity
- Conspiracy (Second Degree) – Two Counts
- Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
She was arraigned in the New Castle County Court of Common Pleas and was committed to the Delores J. Baylor Women’s Correctional Institution on $16,500 cash-only bail.
