Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé requests the public’s help locating Malayiah Russell Valentin, 20, of Newark, wanted for questioning in connection with the investigation of a shooting that occurred on Tuesday, May 21, 2024.
At approximately 12:41 a.m., Police responded to the 100 block of 1st Street on a call of shots fired. Responding officers did not locate any victims, but observed property damage due to gunfire.
Detectives are seeking Malayiah Russell Valentin for questioning regarding this incident. She is described as 5’2” tall and weighs 120 pounds. She is known to frequent Brighton Avenue near Wilson Avenue in Kearny and Myrtle Avenue near Grove Terrace in Irvington.
