Wilmington Police arrest woman in connection with April 5 shooting incident:
Wilmington Police have arrested a woman in connection with a shooting incident following an investigation.
On April 5, at approximately 3:08 a.m., members of the Uniformed Services Division responded to the 700 block of North Madison Street, in reference to a shooting incident. Upon arrival, officers located a 36-year-old female gunshot victim, who was transported to the hospital in stable condition. The case was assigned to Detective Joran Merced of the Criminal Investigations Division.
Through the course of his investigation, Detective Merced identified 29-year-old Antoinette Vaughn as a suspect and obtained warrants for her arrest. On May 25, Vaughn was taken into custody without incident in the 1700 block of Maryland Avenue.
Vaughn has been charged with the following offenses:
- Attempted Murder (First Degree)
- Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony
- Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon
- Reckless Endangering (First Degree) – Three Counts
- Criminal Mischief Under $1,000
- Discharging a Firearm
