On 03/30/2024, City of Camarillo patrol deputies responded to a robbery which had just occurred at a business located within the Camarillo Premium Outlets. Upon arrival, deputies learned the suspect concealed merchandise while inside the business. As the suspect began to exit the business with the merchandise an employee attempted to intervene. The suspect then intentionally battered the employee and exited the business with the stolen merchandise.  This information was later forwarded to the Camarillo Investigations Bureau.

During the months of April and May 2024, Camarillo Detectives investigated the robbery. Detectives subsequently identified Andrew Gonzales as the suspect in the robbery. On 05/28/2024, detectives with the Camarillo Investigations Bureau, Camarillo Special Enforcement Unit and Camarillo Directed Enforcement Unit apprehended Gonzales in the City of Oxnard where he was arrested for a violation of California Penal Code Section 211 – Robbery.

Detectives subsequently served a search warrant at Gonzales’ residence in the City of Oxnard. As a result of the search, detectives located various items of merchandise, which had been stolen from the business by Gonzales. Additionally, detectives located a semi-automatic handgun which had been unlawfully transferred, a violation of California Penal Code Section 27545 – Unlawful Transfer of Firearm. Gonzales was later booked into the Ventura County Pre-Trial Detention Facility.
