Press Release: Jewelry Store Robbery Investigation 
Newark, California (Thursday, May 30, 2024)
On May 29, 2024, at approximately 12:56 PM, Newark Police Department officers were notified of a possible robbery in-progress from Bhindi Jewelers located at 5944 Newpark Mall Road. Several suspect vehicles with getaway drivers and at least a dozen suspects were involved. They forcibly entered the store, shattered glass display cases, and seized a substantial amount of jewelry. The exact value of the stolen items is currently unknown and under investigation. The entire incident took place within a few minutes.
The Newark Police Department Detective Unit has taken over the investigation and is thoroughly following up on all leads and processing all associated evidence. There were no reported injuries.
