Multi-Agency Trespass Enforcement Campaign Conducts One Day Operation Focusing on Illegal OHV Activity

INCIDENT: Multi-agency Off-road and Trespass Enforcement Campaign
LOCATION: Lytle/Cajon Creek, Devils Diversion Channel and bordering neighborhoods located within Unincorporated San Bernardino area (Muscoy) and Incorporated area of San Bernardino, and the Santa Ana River section that runs through the cities of San Bernardino, Rialto and Colton.

SUMMARY: This Multi-agency Off-road and Trespass Enforcement Campaign was organized to address public concerns regarding a high increase in illegal OHV activity in neighborhoods near flood control channels, and to prevent off-roaders from trespassing onto environmentally sensitive lands which are homes to endangered plants and wildlife.
Participating agencies were San Bernardino County Code Enforcement, San Bernardino County Sheriff Department (Central Station), Sheriff's OHV Unit, California Highway Patrol, Colton PD, San Bernardino PD, San Bernardino County Regional Parks, and Riverside County Regional Parks. The focus of this operation was education in addition to enforcement.
The one-day operations resulted in one felony arrest, one OHV impounded, one citations and 59 educational contacts.
