Wilmington Police have arrested a man on gun charges.
On May 1, at approximately 8:58 a.m., members of the Uniformed Services Division were in the 800 block of West 8th Street, when they observed a male subject acting in a suspicious manner. Officers attempted to make contact with 36-year-old Brian Bell, who discarded a firearm and fled on foot. Bell was not taken into custody at this time, and officers obtained warrants for his arrest. On May 26, Bell was taken into custody without incident in Laurel, Delaware.
Bell has been charged with the following offenses:
- Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited
- Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon
- Resisting Arrest
He was arraigned in the New Castle County Court of Common Pleas and was committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution on $5,500 cash-only bail.
