Full Notification

Sheriff Richard J. Behnke reports that deputies of the Cass County Sheriff’s Office responded to an emergency call of a pedestrian hit and run crash on US 12 just west of Mason St. in Cass County’s Porter Township. This 911 call came into the Cass County Central Dispatch on 6-3-24 at 6:27am.  The caller reported seeing a body on the side of the roadway and believed they had been hit by a car. When emergency personnel arrived, a male subject was found deceased on the side of the roadway in the grass.  The name of the deceased is being withheld pending notification of family. Assisting on scene were the Michigan State Police, SEPSA Ambulance and the Porter Township Fire Department.
