NEW SOLID WASTE COLLECTION SERVICES NOW IN EFFECT

Today, (June 3, 2024) the City of Lighthouse Point in conjunction with Waste Management successfully kicked of our new (ASL) Automated Side Load solid waste pickup service.

WE NOTICED A FEW PROBLEMS WITH THE PLACEMENT OF GARBAGE CARTS.

Please place your garbage cart at the edge of your driveway the night before or no later than 7 am on your regularly scheduled collection day. Do not place your carts in the street. To allow the automatic arm to lift and empty your garbage cart, be sure it is placed THREE (3) FEET from obstacles, including parked cars, mailboxes, other garbage/recycle carts and fencing with the cart wheels facing your home.

• The cart handle must face away from the street (cart wheels face toward your house), with the lid opening facing the roadway
• Place your garbage/recycle carts side by side (3’ apart) not one behind the other.
• All garbage must be placed inside the cart with the lid closed
• Please bag all garbage to keep carts clean and odor-free
• Only City-provided carts will be collected. Resident-owned carts or containers WILL NOT be serviced
• Any material left outside of the cart or placed on top of the cart WILL NOT be collected
• Continue using your existing green & tan recycling carts

To dispose of old garbage carts, lay the cart ON ITS SIDE and place it in your bulk pile.
