* WHERE...Portions of central, north central, and northeast Illinois, including the following counties, in central Illinois, Livingston. In north central Illinois, De Kalb and La Salle. In northeast Illinois, Cook, DuPage, Grundy, Kane, Kankakee, Kendall and Will.

* WHEN...Until 500 AM CDT.

* IMPACTS...Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 100 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Up to 2 inches of rain has already fallen in portions of the area. - Additional rainfall amounts up to 2 inches are expected over portions of the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Chicago, Aurora, Joliet, Naperville, Elgin, Cicero, Hammond, Arlington Heights, Evanston, Schaumburg, Bolingbrook, Palatine, Skokie, Des Plaines, Orland Park, Tinley Park, Oak Lawn, Berwyn, Mount Prospect and Wheaton. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

A Flood Advisory means minor flooding along waterways and other poor drainage areas is imminent or may already be occurring. Persons in the advisory area should use caution and avoid flood waters. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. Do not drive through flooded roadways.
