Special Weather Statement until 06:00AM Thursday
A strong ridge of high pressure will bring hot temperatures to much of central and northwestern Nevada valleys Thursday and Friday. Temperatures in valleys will be 15-20 degrees above normal, rising well into the 90s with some lower 100s in northeastern Nye County. Record highs could be tied or broken across the area Thursday. Some reprieve from the heat is expected overnight with temperatures cooling down into the 50s except for the West Wendover area where lows will only drop into the upper 60s to lower 70s.
