INCIDENT: Attempted Murder
LOCATION: 1091 W. Valley Boulevard, Colton, California 92324
SUSPECT(S): Luis Gonzalez Morales, 45-year-old male resident of Colton
VICTIM(S): #1: Gurjot Gill, 20-year-old male resident of Riverside
#2: Suresh Chakma, 47-year-old male resident of San Bernardino
SUMMARY: On Tuesday, June 4, 2024, at approximately 9:50 p.m., deputies assigned to Central Station were dispatched to 1091 W. Valley Boulevard, in the unincorporated county area of Colton, for the report of a stabbing. When deputies arrived at the location, they contacted the victims, Gurjot Gill and Suresh Chakma. Both were employees of the store.
While working in the store, Luis Gonzalez Morales entered and made a purchase. After the transaction, there was a confrontation between Morales and Gill and a fight ensued. When Chakma tried to separate them, Morales produced a knife and stabbed Gill and Chakma.
Gill ran from the store and took refuge in a patron’s vehicle while Chakma hid in the store. Morales chased Gill to the vehicle and continued to threaten him. Another patron saw Morales was injured and transported him to an area hospital for treatment. Deputies later contacted Morales in the emergency room where he was taken into custody without incident. Gill and Chakma were later transported to an area hospital and were in stable condition.
Morales was transported to the West Valley Detention Center where he was booked for PC 664/187; Attempted Murder, in lieu of $1,000,000.00 bail.
